PRODUCT INFOWhat you are purchasing is the improved version of AlphaSense's castable resin. It is based on our previous castable product, which has already been well received by our customers. With the new castable resin product, you will enjoy the following benefits:
Fast curing. No matter what type of printer you are using (i.e. DLP, SLA and LCD), a model can be fabricated with a very high speed of ~1-2 inches/hour. For users with a DLP printer, depending on the cross- sectional area of the model, each layer of ~100 micrometer thickness can be cured within 5 to 15 seconds; A shorter exposure time of 5-10 seconds is needed for larger denture models, while 10-15 seconds are required for smaller structures such as jewelry/ring models. The resin has a relatively low viscosity, thus allowing one to use a shorter (2-5 seconds) of resin immersion and settling time;
Smooth surface finish. Prints resulted from the new resin product have very smooth and waxy surfaces. The surface finish is generally too smooth to visually differentiate layer boundaries even if a relatively rough (i.e. 100 micron) step size/resolution was used;
Simple and cost effective cleaning. Uncured resin residues can be easily removed by rinsing the prints with warm water (i.e. <60 degree C) for 1-2 minutes. There is no need to use solvent or isopropyl alcohol, thus making it much simpler and more cost effective for residue removal;
No post curing is needed. The cured 3D models are robust enough and there is no need for post curing. Therefore, our resin product can lead to further time and cost savings;
Odorless. Our unique material selection makes the resin odorless, which is drastically different from the resins supplied by some other vendors;
Low/zero volatile organic compounds (VOCs).In order to form a metal cast, one will need to embed the 3D print from the castable resin in the slurry of plaster of paris. Our castable resin can be easily removed using a standard polymer burnout schedule to be shipped with the product. Negligible ash/resin (i.e. <0.2%) will be left after the polymer removal process, thus leaving a shape- and configuration- complementary cavity in the mold for subsequent casting to obtain high- quality jewelry, dental and industrial parts.Each batch of resins was fully tested before it was shipped to our customers to ensure the best printing quality at a highly competitive price!
