Function: Measure cavity resonance perturbation caused by materials placed inside or underneath the resonant cavity. Based on the perturbed cavity resonance characteristics, the material electromagnetic properties can be evaluated, which can then be correlated with different material state and damage levels.
For example, it can be used to evaluate the sensitization in aluminum and stainless steel alloys and quantify the incipient heat damage levels in composites.
